Semi-frameless uses a slim frame around the perimeter of the fixed panel only. It is a more affordable, watertight option that still reads modern. Frameless uses thick tempered glass with minimal hardware and is what most Federal Way customers choose for new builds and remodels because it shows the tile work and reads as a higher-end finish. We specialize in custom frameless and semi-frameless enclosures and don't install standard framed aluminum-channel doors.

Standard clear glass has a slight green tint that becomes more visible at thicker sizes and on larger panels. Low-iron glass (sometimes sold as Starphire or Ultra-Clear) removes the iron content responsible for the tint, so the glass reads truly clear. It's a common upgrade on high-end bathrooms with white or light-colored tile, where the green tint of standard glass is most noticeable. Expect roughly a 15 to 25% upcharge.
