Shower Door Installation & Custom Glass in Kirkland, WA

Kirkland keeps us busy. The schedule is a steady mix of waterfront and view-property remodels around Houghton, Juanita, and Rose Hill, plus newer townhome and infill construction near downtown. Frameless shower enclosures and glass railings on stair runs are our most common Kirkland installs, and we run frameless glass railings on lake-facing decks where the panel itself is part of the view rather than something to look past.

Local notes

Neighborhoods we work in

Kirkland's older waterfront homes often have angled walls, niche windows, and other unusual openings that custom glass handles cleanly. Newer Kirkland townhomes come straighter and let us run frameless quickly.

Frameless

Custom Frameless Shower Doors in Kirkland

Waterfront-area remodels around Houghton and Juanita bring the odd angles: niche windows, knee walls, and openings that need template work. The newer townhomes near downtown are the opposite, straight and fast for frameless installs.

Frameless doors use 3/8" or 1/2" tempered glass with no perimeter frame; the structure runs through the hinges and clips. We build hinged single panels, corner enclosures, neo-angle units, and frameless sliders in 14 hardware finishes, and we replace existing framed or semi-frameless units on the same grade of glass as a new install.

Steam & sauna

Steam shower & sauna doors in Kirkland

A steam enclosure is a different build from a standard shower door: continuous gaskets around the full perimeter, a header sealed against vapor, and hardware rated for the heat and humidity cycle. Sauna doors are their own spec, usually tempered glass set into a cedar or hemlock frame, and we coordinate frame dimensions with the sauna builder before fabrication.

Railings

Glass railings for Kirkland decks, stairs & balconies

Kirkland stair railings run through three-story townhomes, templated tread by tread for the rake. Lake-facing decks add exterior guard work where the glass is the view. Permits route through City of Kirkland Planning & Building.

We install glass guard rails on stair runs, balconies, decks, and mezzanines in three system families: frameless standoff, base shoe, and framed post-and-rail with glass infill. Glass is tempered or laminated to code.

Partitions

Glass wall partitions for Kirkland homes & offices

Glass partitions divide a space without cutting off the light: home offices, primary bath separations, conference rooms, and retail fit-outs. Framed or fully frameless, with sliding panels and integrated doors where the layout calls for them.

Process

How we work in Kirkland: design, measure, fabricate, install

  1. 01

    Free in-home design consultation

Tim visits the home in Kirkland, discusses configuration, glass type, and hardware finish, and assesses any existing unit if it's a replacement. Typically 30 to 45 minutes. No obligation.

  2. 02

    Precision field measurement

Final measurements happen after tile and plumbing fixtures are set. Walls are rarely plumb; the measure captures the actual geometry so the panels land flush.

  3. 03

    Custom fabrication

Glass cut and tempered to your opening; hardware specced to glass weight. Typical lead time is 1.5 to 2 weeks for standard custom configurations. Specialty glass (Starphire, Barock) extends that.

  4. 04

    Professional installation or replacement

On-site fitting, sealed and aligned. Most installs finish in a half-day, finished clean. Replacements use the same glass and hardware grade as new installs. No retrofit shortcuts.

Pricing

Pricing for Kirkland homeowners

No two openings are the same, so every project is priced after a free in-home measure.

What changes the price: glass thickness (3/8" vs 1/2"), hardware finish, low-iron upgrade, return panels, steam tops, and any custom notches around tile niches. We provide a free written quote after the in-home measure. The price you see is the price you pay.

"Tim handled every panel and rail across the project — measured himself, installed himself. The detailing is what you want at this price point."
